Atern Goods was founded in the fall of 2023, born from my passion for both craftsmanship and watches. My vision was to create high-quality, handcrafted watch accessories that blend timeless artistry with modern, functional design. This is reflected in the name "Atern," which merges the words "atelier" and "modern."
One of our first signature products was the wooden watch stand—designed with inspiration from the West and handcrafted in India. After testing existing options on the market and viewing them from a watch enthusiast's perspective, I made key improvements to enhance their practicality. While the product has evolved, there’s always room for refinement, and I’m committed to continuously improving it.
My journey into leather crafting began with my vintage Omodox watch. I was instantly captivated by its design, but upon receiving it, I realized the watch was too small for my wrist. The natural solution was to use a bund strap, yet finding a 17mm bund strap proved to be a real challenge.
This frustration sparked my long-held dream of learning leathercraft. After three months of trial and error, I successfully crafted a black buff leather bund strap with accent stitching, perfectly complementing the watch.
Since then, I’ve continued creating bespoke watch straps for others. Many watch enthusiasts face similar challenges—some watches require custom strap widths, and some wrists need personalized lengths. We all understand the importance of a well-crafted strap, both in terms of style and functionality. A custom strap enhances your watch, reflecting your personal taste and appreciation for fine craftsmanship.
